While I did learn some things about downtown St Louis, I found the book to be more for a tourist or sitting upon someone’s coffee table. It does not provide the true dark and controversial hidden history of St Louis that needs to be told. Having lived here all 51 years of my life, I was looking for some raw information that would fill in some voids in the city’s history history and intrigue me to research more into any references, not some light reading that child would select for a last minute read to submit a book report.
